Ottawa New Beetle Club Spring GTG 2003

Home-made pancakes with fresh maple syrup right from the tree (well almost). Who could resist? Apparently many of our members could but hey we had fun anyway! After a long, cold winter, the Ottawa New Beetle Club members couldn't wait to put away their boots and gloves, get the cars all shiny again and hit the road for another fun cruise with friends and family. Although the turnout was a little lighter than expected, those who made the trip out to Stanley's Farm and Sugar Bush were glad they did.

We began our journey on a beautiful spring morning in the nation's capital. After meeting in the south end of town, we followed our newest member , Keith, out to Edwards Ontario where we knew a wonderful breakfast awaited us. We were met there by two members from Montréal, René and Bill who never seem to miss an ONBC outing. After a nice stroll through the wooded lane to the old farm house, we all crowded around a big table and filled our happy faces with eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage and ham...all smothered in fresh maple syrup. Yummy! A few of us even managed to save a little room for maple taffy off the snow. Although we had hoped to fill the entire parking lot with New Beetles, there was no way we could be disappointed. It's impossible to be unhappy with a belly full of pancakes and fresh maple syrup!
